As part of our ongoing community commitment, US Eagle provides three $2,000 scholarships each year to students from New Mexico entering or attending an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university. Many scholarship applications were submitted by students across the state, each focusing on the areas of “Concern For Community,” “Build A Business Plan,” and the “Vigil Bullying Prevention” initiative. Congratulations to our winners who were announced at this year’s Annual Meeting.

Garnet Waldrop Garnet is an outstanding individual who has demonstrated not only academic excellence but also a commitment to serving others and making a positive impact on the world around them through her grassroots project, Ray of Sunshine. Since the age of seven, Garnet has worked tirelessly to give over 800,000 items to those in need, including the homeless population of Albuquerque. Her efforts have been recognized in magazines, TV interviews, and even a TED Talk! Garnet is passionate about helping others, whether in the community or at her school. She wants to help people so they have the resources and confidence they need to be their best selves and achieve their dreams. She would love to study abroad so she can embrace different cultures and widen her worldview.
Garnet’s hero is her mom, because she perseveres through hard times and is always there to support and guide her with anything.

Aubrey Jones Aubrey is a student at the University of Southern California. Her passion for advocating for the Indigenous community lies in her Diné heritage. Her business plan aims to bring the Diné language to children everywhere. Throughout her freshman year, Aubrey has eagerly seized every opportunity that USC offers to delve into Indigenous studies, sparking a desire to leverage her education for the community's benefit.
Post-college, she aspires to contribute to local Indigenous media, ensuring quality news reaches all Indigenous peoples. Their inspiration stems from her biggest role model, her mother, who has shown her what it means to be supportive, loving, and kind to all who she crosses paths with.

Vigil Bullying Prevention
|
|
Hannah Freeman Hannah has played an integral part of the San Juan Safe Communities Initiative Anti-Bullying advocacy group, UmattR. She has proactively taken efforts to combat bullying through sharing anti-bullying messages on social media to reach a larger audience. Hannah is passionate about giving back to her community and has actively taken part in serving through various organizations, projects, and city-sponsored programs. She has developed a strong desire and dedication to continue serving her small-town community in Farmington for the remainder of her life.
Hannah plans to earn her degree and return home to serve her community as an attorney for the City of Farmington and continue contributing to her small town.
As she enters college, Hannah’s goal is to embrace future opportunities with excitement and ambition, and to make the most of her experience. She plans to challenge and push herself out of her comfort zone to learn new lessons and gain new experiences.
Hannah’s biggest role model and hero is her mom. Throughout her life, her mom has sacrificed everything she has so that she could have every opportunity imaginable to succeed. In Hannah’s words: “She is the most selfless and caring person I know, and I strive to be like her in every way. My mom is my hero, my inspiration, and my biggest motivator.”
