Introducing: US Eagle Foundation
US Eagle has established a new entity, The US Eagle Foundation, to provide sustained support for improving our communities. The Foundation’s Mission and Vision statements define their intent and direction:
Mission: To make things better for the people and communities US Eagle serves and lives in.
Vision: The Foundation will look to partner with organizations that historically demonstrate commitment to the greater good. Specific focus will be dedicated to the people and families of modest means through efforts with sustainable impact.
The Foundation’s initiatives will make things better in the areas that make life better for all: education, transportation, hunger, financial inclusion, diversity and equity, and housing. The Foundation will bring life to its mission through not only its external partnerships but its internal partnerships with Flight Crew and US Eagle’s Team Members as well.
A History of Community Giving:
As a community-driven Credit Union, US Eagle has had a long history of charitable giving and involvement. In the 1990s, our Philanthropy committee regularly hosted carnivals and events to raise money for non-profit organizations. Events ranged from car washes to Halloween contests.
As the committee grew and more funds were raised, US Eagle decided to increase their community engagement activities and incorporate a 501(c)(3) dedicated to philanthropic activities. A new committee was established: The Community Involvement Committee (CIC). A group of dedicated employees backed by the credit union raised funds that supported causes that US Eagle employees and membership were passionate about.
CIC hosted fund-raisers including regular bake sales and auctions, popcorn and biscochitos sales, and donated the proceeds to community partners such as PB&J Family Services, the NM Woman’s Veterans Association, and supported low-income schools.
In 2018, that committee transitioned to Flight Crew and received funding from US Eagle through an endowment that encourages employees to participate in community support.
In 2020, US Eagle established the US Eagle Foundation. Together with the Flight Crew committee, the Foundation extends US Eagle’s concern for community by focusing on education, housing, transportation, hunger, financial inclusion, diversity, and equity. With the ability to give and receive grants, the Foundation is looking for larger-scale partnerships to support and empower our community.
